Tech4Cancer is a non-profit founded in 2023 by Gal Avital and Idan Megidish — both social entrepreneurs with rich experience in technology companies and the third sector.
After Gal was diagnosed with breast cancer twice and recovered, the journey she shared with Idan taught them that change is both possible and necessary in the pace of scientific and clinical progress in cancer research in Israel.
The organization connects leading cancer researchers with experts in technology, data and AI from the leading tech companies — to dramatically shorten the path to life-saving treatment, and sometimes even discover entirely new ways to treat the disease.

Orna Berry is the first Chief Scientist of the State of Israel and a member of the CTO office at Google Cloud. Over several decades she has held key roles at the intersection of research, industry and public policy, and has led technological innovation in Israel and on the international stage. She is one of the most prominent and influential figures in the Israeli innovation ecosystem.
A technology entrepreneur and co-founder of Yotpo, one of Israel's leading software companies in digital commerce. Led the company from a startup to a global business developing AI-based solutions for thousands of brands worldwide. Previously a chip engineer at Intel, and today writes the CommerceGPT newsletter on AI's impact on the world of commerce.
Leads early-stage investments in digital health, diagnostics and med-tech. Previously ran a technology incubator and was involved in founding companies based on academic research. A lawyer specializing in investments, mergers and acquisitions.

Eldad Kay is a senior executive with over 15 years of experience in the impact sector in Israel, the UK and the US. Throughout his career he has led resource development, partnership building and philanthropic activity at leading social organizations, including the Abraham Initiatives Fund and UJIA. His experience combines strategic development, building cross-sector partnerships and leading large-scale social initiatives.
Named a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, Maor has over a decade of experience at the intersection of data, software, and leadership. He is passionate about emerging technologies and their power to transform industries.
Alongside Base44, Maor leads Second Light, a personally funded oncology fund providing capital to the companies and researchers working to make cancer survivable. The fund backs early stage companies and provides grants to researchers testing promising ideas before they are ready to become companies.
